Colorado.

A weekend of family, friends, mountains, snow, and squirrels.

Flying over Chicago in the middle of the night, listening to Come on Feel the Illinoise. Beautiful.

to Those Who Wait:

Wednesday. Rain, heartbreak, and terrible cooking. I'm in one of those slumps where nothing seems to work out right. But I suppose all of it can only get better from this point. I've recently become a fan of underground hip hop which, for some reason, helps alot (El Foto Grande by Robust). That and taking one giant long nap. Good things always happen eventually.

Musings, Meanderings & Restful Sojourns.

I absolutely love Maira Kalman. One of my teachers introduced me to her quirky illustrations and now I love her art as much as she loves Abe Lincoln, if not more.

Here is the link to her blog, And The Pursuit of Happiness. I especially enjoy Maira's appreciation for all of the different kinds of people with whom she shares the city. And the photos that she lovingly unknowingly captures of them from behind.

Motivation to write more often.

Today was junior review day. It involved four fine art professors giving their opinions on the art that I've made so far this year. The news was good: they liked everything and encouraged me to continue to combine text and images, and to use text as an image. Additionally (this warmed my heart!) I was told that if ever I decide not to become an artist, I'd make a decent poet.
